Live Well. Laugh Much. Love Often. Her necklace read it. Her life spoke it.

TWIN FALLS • Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Leanore June McCraw (nee Manning), went home to be with Jesus on Friday, May 2, 2014.

Lee is survived by husband, John; children, Bobbi Dalton, Nancy Marley, Melody Romero and John K McCraw Jr.; Manning brothers, Bob, Dan and Doug; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Lee’s quiet strength and servant’s heart took her through nurse’s training and a nursing career that spanned 40-plus years as an RN. She believed in service to others, whether those others had two legs or four — during the Cuban missile crisis she served on a regional Civil Defense team, led a large 4-H dairy goat project, installed shingles on the house the family built, and, although she could not swim, rescued a neighbor’s baby piglets from a flooded creek when waters destroyed their barn.

Lee loved to create and crafted stuffed pigs, cows, bears and rabbits and taught her family and friends the joy of making greeting cards. After retiring in 1989, Lee and John bought a motor home and spent two years traveling. They explored nearly every state in America and many countries in the South Pacific and Europe before purchasing their home in Boulder City, Nev., where they enjoyed playing Blackjack, Let It Ride and video poker slots.

In 2009, Lee and John moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, to be closer to family. A four-time cancer survivor, Lee enjoyed bicycling, water and snow skiing (learning to do both after age 50), but her passion was gardening — she kept a garden and lavished love on her flowerbeds up to six months before her passing.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave E. in Twin Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Lee’s name to the American Cancer Society, or your favorite charity.Image
